Our Favorite Activities in Reno Tahoe

Have out of town guests for your Reno/Tahoe event? While your event is what will get them here, we think it would be a shame to not encourage your guests to explore beyond. With a region that has so much to offer, below are a few of our team member’s recommendations for must do’s for out of town guests.

Taylor – Tahoe Beaches:

A short drive away lies crystal clear water, soft sand and one of Taylor’s favorite hangout spots! In the summer, Lake Tahoe offers countless stunning beaches that will accommodate the sun bathers, the picnic goers, the water sports enthusiast and who could forget – the dog lovers!! Taylor’s recommendation is Kiva Beach located in South Lake Tahoe. Filled with happy people and even happier pups, this spot is definitely one to check out on a sunny day! Throw on your swim trunks, grab some towels, and a knapsack filled with drinks, snacks, and sunscreen – you’re set.

Ashley – Casale’s Halfway Club:

Although this little place looks a tad worn on the outside, the family that owns this restaurant will make you feel at home the moment you walk in. The Casale’s Halfway Club has been around for 70 years and quickly became a local favorite with their homemade Italian food and hospitality. Ashley frequents this restaurant often and claims that the spaghetti is the best you’ll ever have!

Abi – Genoa/Virgina City Loop:

Abi recommends the Genoa/Virginia city loop – a road trip that will leave you in awe. Not only do the backroads take you through some of the most beautiful countryside, but they will take you to some of the most unique destinations. The first stop on this drive is the small town of Genoa where you can quench your thirst at Nevada’s oldest bar, the Genoa Bar. From there you can make your way through the state’s capital of Carson City where you can indulge in some cultural and delicious Basque food at The Martin. The last stop on this beautiful road trip is the old mining town of Virginia city. Be sure to stop in the Bucket of Blood for one of their famous Bloody Mary’s.

Claire – Camping:

There are endless camping possibilities in the region; however, Claire and her pup Fig recommend the Tahoe National Forest. Not only are you away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities, but for the avid outdoorsman/woman/pet there’s endless miles to explore! Claire and Fig love off roading for hours until finding the perfect spot nestled along a river or lake, where they enjoy hours of floating, fetch, and sunshine! To top it off, you’ll get to enjoy the ambient sounds of nature at night under the vast and starry sky. If done right, you’ll set yourselves up with a cozy fire and a whole bunch of s’mores!

All in all, the Reno Tahoe area is pretty awesome – so definitely show it off! Whether you take one of our recommendations or find something on your own, adventure awaits. You and your guests are bound to have a great time.
