Eat, Drink, and Be Scary: Tips for a Stylish and Spooky Halloween Party
Not that we ever need an excuse to throw a party, but, if you do, Halloween is just around the corner! If you ask us, there is no age limit to host a festive party and what better holiday to do so than Halloween?!
Gone are the days of cliché black and orange decorations and done to death cemetery lawn ornaments. Here at Red Carpet we want to celebrate Halloween in the most chic way possible. You do, too? Then look no further …
Tablescapes
Embrace a mysterious vibe with a tablescape outfitted with masks, antique objects, clocks and candlesticks. Even if they don’t seem frightening on their own, old pieces can add an eerily antiquated note to your tablescape. Situate antique items around candles and dark tone floral arrangements at the dinner table. Not only do they add extra texture and a spooky feel to your tablescape, but they are also fantastic conversation starters among your guests as they dine. A black, purple, and pink color palette is a must, and of course, don’t forget the gold masks as pictured in this vignette.
Food
Serve these “poison” apples, for a sleek and eerie take on a seasonal treat. Plus, if you go for an all-black theme, they’ll match the decor seamlessly.
Beverages (don’t forget the boo-s!)
Turn little glass bottles into jars for ‘poisonous’ cocktails.
Or, chill all of your beverages in a real pumpkin … or even a coffin!
Lighting
Conjure up a spookier atmosphere by limiting your light sources. Skip the overhead lamp at the dinner table in favor of candles – traditional or antique-style candlestick holders work best.
Entertainment
Want to really amuse your guests? Forget bobbing for apples and the mummy wrap game! Instead, offer guests chakra healing, dream interpretations or tarot card readings for a more mystical vibe.
Your guests are sure to be impressed by this Halloween soiree – there’s a little drama, a lot of elegance, and just a hint of darkness. Don’t forget to send us an invitation!
