Julie Nobis, Owner
Julie comes to work with an excitement and true passion for what she does! After graduating from Clemson University, Julie headed out West to complete a summer internship at the Hyatt in Incline Village, NV. Julie fell in love with both the hospitality industry and Lake Tahoe and has made Northern Nevada her home ever since.
In 2001, Julie saw a need in the North Lake Tahoe area for destination management services and thus created Red Carpet Events. This allowed her to share her passion for the area with visitors from all around the world. She loves the challenge of creating the perfect event within the client’s budget.
Julie has been married to her wonderful husband Christian for more than a decade and together they have made their home in Sparks with their charismatic young son, Rudi, and their 2 rambunctious boxers. In that mystical thing called “free time” Julie enjoys hiking, spending time with friends and family and a good glass of wine!

Karen Nichols, CPCE, Owner
Karen was fortunate to find a career in the hotel business early in life, which then led her to find her true passion, special events and catering. Creating events that meet her clients goals as well as making them unique and interactive is Karen’s specialty. Having managed decorating and special events departments for several large Reno hotel-casinos, she learned how to work with talented staff to help clients create custom looks that fit any budget.
Born and raised in the beautiful state of Oregon, Karen still has a soft spot for her hometown of Eugene and the Oregon Ducks (Go Ducks!)
She is engaged to Louie, a native Nevadan who has four daughters. Combined with her son, Brad, and daughter, Brynna, her family keeps her busy. An avid cycling fan who isn’t a very good bike rider, she never misses a day of the Tour de France each year. Karen loves to travel and is a dog lover. She also enjoys going to all of the fabulous special events in Northern Nevada.
