Introducing Red Carpet’s New Additions, the Fantastic Four!

As 2016 came to an end, Red Carpet Events and Design was looking to expand. They weren’t quite sure what they needed… but something or maybe someone was missing. They searched high and low, across land, sea, and space to find their answer. When life seemed dim and all hope was lost, Karen Nichols looked to the stars and fell to her knees, “Help us,” she implored. Out of nowhere the ground began to crumble, four mysterious, yet extremely beautiful, creatures appeared. An unorganized band of superheroes, Shelbi the Human Torch, Marisa the Invisible girl, Katy the Thing, and Amy Miss Fantastic, decided to use their superpowers to help make Red Carpet not only successful, but fantastic. The Fantastic Four has proved themselves to be a hardworking and cohesive team! Continue reading below, if you dare, to learn more about the Fantastic Four.

What is your favorite part of the event?

Brainstorming ideas for an event is my favorite part of the job. Coming up with creative, artistic, and fiery ideas for an event lets me bring out my creative juices.

What is the craziest thing you have eaten? Would you eat it again?

My dad tricked me into trying lamb once. I thought it was chicken. He told me after I had finished the meal. I cried the whole drive home as he sang “Mary had a little lamb.”

What's your favorite cocktail?

Tequila with lime! Aiyiy! One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, Fantastic Four!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

My dream has always been to live in New York City and truly becoming a BIG city girl! Why use the subway when I can fly?

Marisa, the invisible woman, is from Southern California, graduating from Cal State Fullerton, where she earned her degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. Marisa loves to knit, is a food enthusiast, and a self-made comedian. Hoping to find adventure and spontaneity, Marisa recently moved to Reno. She enjoys using her power of invisibility to ensure all the details are cunningly handled and the event is a roaring success!

What is your favorite part of the event?

My favorite part of an event is organizing every detail to make the event successful. Having the correct amount of inventory, organizing the décor, arranging set and strike times and coordinating logistics is incredibly satisfying.

What is the craziest thing you have eaten? Would you eat it again?

Dove! I watched my friend clean the whole entire bird. We earned our meal for the night, but I wouldn’t eat it again.

What's your favorite cocktail?

My favorite cocktail is a Lemon Drop! It blends nicely when I want to drink and be invisible at the same time!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I can’t think that far! I only like to take one day at a time but I do see myself happy and surrounded with my family and saving events with my special powers!

Katy, the “Thing”, is from Truckee, California. She also graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno earning a degree in Business Management. Katy is a lover of sports (Go Giants, Niners and Warriors) and animals but tends to scare the animals away due to her size. Even though Katy is the “Thing”, she recently hurt her hip fighting a battle but will be back in no time!

What is your favorite part of the event?

My favorite part of an event is watching the event come full circle. Creating an idea from the brainstorming process to the finish product, is not only rewarding but fulfilling to watch the clients be rocked!

What is the craziest thing you have eaten? Would you eat it again?

I ate crickets in Chinatown for a dare. A Super Hero never turns down a dare! I would only eat crickets again for survival in the wilderness.

What's your favorite cocktail?

Gin and Tonic with 2 Limes on the rocks ☺

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I would love to continue traveling the world! My goal for the next 10 years is to travel to a different country every year and owning a dog!

Amy Fantastic, is our new intern from Providence, Rhode Island, receiving her degree in Sport/Entertainment/Event Management. During her 3 month internship, she is learning every detail of event coordination: sales, operations and floral mastery. Amy enjoys playing field hockey, being active outdoors and is obsessed with ice-cream. With her super power, she can stretch around events and day to day business with grace and elegance.

What is the most valuable thing you have learned as an intern?

The most valuable thing I have learned as an intern is to be prepared and have patience in all as aspects of an event. You can never estimate your opponent so I always bring my necessary fighting tools!

What's your favorite cocktail?

Margarita on the rocks, salt and lime after a hard-won battle!

What is the craziest thing you have eaten? Would you eat it again?

I was on a rescue mission in Fort Myers when my Grandpa made me eat frog legs. Unfortunately, they do not taste like chicken.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Out of the country, preferably not on a mission! I would also like to start a family and pass on my superpowers to my children one day!
