12 Days of Nevada Christmas

How do you take the “12 days of Christmas” out of the dreary Victorian dark ages and make a memorable and fun social event for 900 of Northern Nevada’s movers and shakers? We focused on our hometown pride and came up with the 12 days of Nevada Christmas. We started by customizing the song: Twelve miners mining, Ten Basque-a leaping, Eight trout a-swimming, Five Silver Nuggets. We commissioned a local graphic design company to create corresponding illustrations and hung them in giant wreaths around the room. Glittering metallics and saturated Christmas reds were the perfect accents for a celebration of natural textures native to our region.

A glowing tumbleweed Christmas tree greeted guests, while a 14-foot reclaimed wood cut out of Nevada hung behind the back bar. Guests were treated to Picon punch and a culinary masterpiece: a 12-layer cake depicting the 12 days of Nevada Christmas.

Sweeping garlands adorned the ceiling, while custom chandeliers of grape vine and wrought iron spheres highlighted the elegant natural theme. Our in-house floral specialist, Peggy Smith, added centerpieces that combined elegant simplicity and organic flourishes completing the lodge inspired look.
